Your hosts are Tony Schiavone & Magnum TA!
WCW World Six-Man Tag Champions Dustin Rhodes, Tom Zenk & Big Josh vs. The York Foundation (w/Alexandra York)
A Flip, Flop and Fly from Rhodes on Morton riles up the heels and gets them all bionic elbows. Zenk tags in and hits a crossbody out of the corner on Taylor for 1-2-NO! Taylorís met with a pair of dropkicks and then rolls out to regroup. Back in, Big Josh and Thomas Rich tag in and the former hunting buddies go at it. Josh hits the running double-ax handle before Rich tags out to Taylor. Josh blocks a slam and delivers one of his own to set up the Log Roll. Morton comes in for a double-noggin knocker. Josh atomic drops Taylor in the face corner and then tags in Rhodes. He gets shoved off a headlock into the ropes and into a knee from Rich off the apron. After some triple-teaming, Morton hits a SWANK back suplex and brings Rich back in the ring. He hits a clothesline and tags in Taylor for some choking, but then he gets hit with a BULLDOG out of nowhere. HOT TAG TO JOSH! He goes punch-crazy and then delivers the TIMBER SPLASH, but Morton breaks up the pin with the computer for the DQ! (5:43) Decent enough glorified squash. **Ĺ
Letís go to Gordon Solie in the WNN newsroom! Gordon brings up Barry Windham and mentions his recent change of heart. He wants to review something that occurred on a recent episode of World Championship Wrestling. Barry Windham comes out and wrestles Snake Watson in a squash match, but then Luger, Race and Mr. Hughes come down and scrape Windhamís face on the concrete. Ron Simmons tries to save, but the numbers game gets the best of him too!
The Patriots vs. Sam Cody & Snake Watson
Wow, still no U.S. tag belts. The Patriots deliver a drop-toehold/leg drop combo that looked pretty good, but then Champion screws up a backdrop! Firebreaker Chip follows in with a running corner clothesline and then connects with a flying clothesline. Champion comes in for his jumping back elbow, which Iím guessing is his finisher now and covers for 1-2-3. (2:05) Champion celebrates like he just beat Lex Luger.
Itís time for the WCW Top Ten for the weekend of September 7!

WCW World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger
The Enforcers promo: Larry goes off on people who like rap music, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Madonna. Its JUST PLAIN STUPID! His point is, only stupid people would get in the ring with the Enforcers. Arn says they stuck to their foolproof game plan and did exactly what they set out to do and thatís win the WCW World Tag Team titles.
WCW World Tag Team Champions The Enforcers vs. Jamie McKinnon & Jim Boss
Arn freakiní stomps the crap out of McKinnon and then gives him a Spinebuster to set up for Larry Zís stretch submission. (0:32) Now THATís how you send a message.
Lex Luger, Harley Race & Mr. Hughes promo: Race thinks scrubbing Windhamís face on concrete should be enough to get rid of him for a while. Luger says he felt threatened and had to do something serious like rub Windhamís face on concrete to retaliate. He adds that If Windham ever messes with him again, heís going to need a REAL good plastic surgery. Oh yeah, same goes to you Ron Simmons.
Rick Steiner vs. Jack Savage
Oh my gosh. Steinerís not being very nice in this match. He nearly German suplexes Savage in the ropes, which couldíve been disastrous. STIFF Steinerline follows and then he rams Savage into the corner. BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPERPLEX puts Savage away. (1:43) That was so unnecessarily stiff.
Alright! The angle where Cactus Jack sends Sting presents is now underway! Apparently, we missed the beginning of it last week. On a recent episode of World Championship Wrestling, Sting received a present with a lady inside! She gives Sting a big smooch and hands Sting a note. ďNo matter where you are, no matter where you go, Iím watching you and canít wait until I get my hands on you. Love, your friend- Cactus Jack.Ē Haha. Sting says heís not a hard guy to find and then gives that random chick another kiss. Sting ~ ďI donít mind getting a prize in a box like that.Ē
Cactus Jack interview: Tony asks him who is sending the boxes and Cactus replies with, ďIT DOESNĒT MATTER WHO IS SENDING THE BOXES!Ē Haha. Heís happy to say that he now has a purpose and a mission, and that is to make Stingís wrestling career a memory! Somebody is paying him a ton of money to put Sting out of wrestling. Cactus says his reputation is built on blood, sweats and tears. The blood and sweat are his, but the tears are from the little Stingers out there. Hahaha. If he could, he would walk up the aisles and slap all of the little Stingers because they deserve it. Hahaha. Great promo.
The Diamond Studd vs. Chris Sullivan
Studd ~ ďEverybody look at me! Iím the BAD GUY!Ē It appears Studd has laryngitis, but he still cuts a quick promo about being a role model. Some little kid in the front row is not impressed at all. Studd punches Sullivan around and then pulls him out of the corner onto his neck! Studd hits a chokeslam and catches Sullivan with a discus right. Side slam sets up the pump splash. Abdominal stretch follows and then Studd takes Sullivan to the floor for some guardrail action. Back in, Studd hits the DIAMOND DEATH DROP for the win. (4:10) Good squash for Studd this week.
Barry Windham/Ron Simmons promo: They let Lex Luger know that heís got their attention and he better watch his back.
Final Thoughts: WCW continues to improve slowly but surely. No show for next week from me, but Iíll pick up with September 21.
