WCW @ Monroe, LA - Civic Center - January 6, 1997
Monday Nitro - featured Gene Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Kevin Sullivan regarding his feud with Chris Benoit, with Sullivan walking off after Okerlund said he had video comments from someone on the matter other than Benoit and Woman; included Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve McMichael, and Debra with Debra running down Benoit and Woman for not appearing; moments later, Jeff Jarrett appeared and questioned whether Flair wanted him in the group, with Anderson attacking Jarrett after Jarrett referred to him as "the horse's rear;" Anderson then assaulted Jarrett into the ring, with the other Horsemen surrounding the ring, until Jarrett hit a neckbreaker on Anderson and put his feet on the ropes for leverage while Randy Anderson made a pinfall; moments later, Debra got between the Horsemen and Jarrett, with McMichael shoving Flair away when Flair put his hands on Debra; Flair eventually said Jarrett was okay with him if he was okay with McMichael, with Anderson then storming off; Benoit was advertised earlier in the show to face Jarrett but the match didn't take place; featured the announcement that Rey Mysterio Jr., Psychosis, WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal, Diamond Dallas Page, Jacques Rougeau & Carl Oulette would be part of WCW Saturday Night; included a pre-taped promo by Lex Luger regarding his upcoming match against Meng; featured footage from the previous week of Roddy Piper being taken from ringside on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance backstage, during which Piper was heard screaming in another language; included footage of Sting's appearance during the Luger vs. Giant match at Starrcade and the finish of the match; featured a closing with the nWo - WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash, Big Bubba, nWo Sting, Syxx, Buff Bagwell, Nick Patrick, Vincent, Michael Wallstreet, and Scott Norton - in which Hogan and Bischoff cut an in-ring promo on Hogan allegedly beating Piper at Starrcade and then beating down Piper and the Giant the previous week; moments later, the Giant appeared, took out all the nWo wrestlers and press slammed Patrick to the floor; the Giant then went after Hogan and then Bischoff until Hogan attacked Giant from behind with a steel chair, with the other nWo wrestlers holding the Giant as Hogan landed several shots with the weapon; eventually, Bischoff landed a kick to the Giant before the nWo left ringside; Hogan, Bischoff, and Nash then took the commentary headsets as Sting came out, said something to the Giant, and then used his baseball bat to point to the nWo; after Sting left ringside, Vincent was told to get the bat in the ring and land a few shots in on him; the Giant then came to, hit the chokeslam on Vincent, and fended off the nWo with the ball bat to close the broadcast:
Glacier pinned Bobby Eaton at 1:56 with the Cryonic Kick
Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Big Bubba in a Mexican strap match at 5:52 when Bubba knocked Konnan into the fourth and final corner with an uppercut; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Konnan and Bubba's altercations over the previous three weeks; it was announced prior to the match that the Giant would face WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan at Souled Out; after the contest, Bubba attacked Konnan and dropped him with the sidewalk slam
WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal fought Jim Duggan (sub. for Diamond Dallas Page) to a time-limit draw at 8:27 after Duggan knocked the champion out with a taped fist punch; during the bout, Eric Bischoff, Syxx, and WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash came out to the commentary table, with Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyzsko giving them their headsets and leaving; moments later, Bischoff implied Page had joined the nWo and was meeting with WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall; Bischoff then gave information on how women can enter the Miss nWo Contest, said he had signed the ideal candidate for the nWo and would release that information soon, and told Randy Savage to stop calling him; after the contest, Duggan waved a WCW flag inside the ring (Regal's first appearance with new theme music)
Hugh Morrus pinned Jim Powers (w/ Teddy Long) with the moonsault at 1:40 after catching Powers in mid-air and hitting a powerslam; prior to the bout, Schiavone & Zbyzsko returned to the broadcast booth
Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Psychosis with the springboard hurricanrana at 6:43; during the bout, it was announced Jushin Liger defeated J-Cup Champion the Ultimo Dragon the previous week at the Tokyo Dome but Dragon was still the WCW Cruiserweight Champion; it was also announced Dragon would defend the Cruiserweight Title at the Clash of the Champions against Liger and that Rick & Scott Steiner would face WCW Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash & Scott Hall at Souled Out
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. at 2:17 with the Tree of Woe and double stomp; during the match, it was announced Sullivan would face Chris Benoit in a falls count anywhere match at the Clash of the Champions
WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero pinned Alex Wright at 9:05 with a superplex and the frog splash; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Guerrero being attacked at Starrcade by Syxx; during the contest, it was announced Guerrero would face Syxx in a ladder match at Souled Out and that Chris Jericho would face Masahiro Chono; late in the match, Syxx appeared in the aisle, climbed a ladder, and showed off the stolen US title belt around his waist, distracting Guerrero; immediately after the contest, Guerrero chased Syxx backstage
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated Jacques Rougeau & Carl Ouelette (w/ Col. Rob Parker) at 4:06 when Booker pinned Rougeau with the Heat Bomb after Oulette accidentally hit Rougeau with the flagpole behind the referee's back
Lex Luger defeated Meng at 4:51 when a dazed referee Mark Curtis called for the bell after Luger put an interfering Barbarian in the Torture Rack

WCW @ New Orleans, LA - Superdome - January 13, 1997 (10,034)
Monday Nitro - featured an opening backstage segment in which the Giant stormed into the nWo dressing room, in an attempt to get at WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, until he was forced out of the room by police and nWo members; during the segment, the Giant yelled "Coward" at Hogan after learning Hogan wasn't going to face him as scheduled at Souled Out; included the announcement that Arn Anderson would face the Barbarian, Lex Luger would face Scott Norton, and WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal would be in action on WCW Saturday night; featured the announcement that the WCW Executive Committee, in town for the NAPTE Convention, would make a ruling on the claim Hogan would not face the Giant at Souled Out; moments later, Eric Bischoff, Ted Dibiase, and Vincent came out, with Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyzsko leaving the broadcast booth while the nWo members took their seats; during the incident, Zbyzsko told Bischoff that if he kept making bad decisions then he would be mowing Verne Gagne's lawn again; included a vignette on Sting attacking Jeff Jarrett and Rick Steiner after both spoke badly about him; featured an nWo vignette in which WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash cut a promo on facing Rick & Scott Steiner at Souled Out; Aaron Neville was shown in attendance:
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Mr. JL at 4:17 with a moonsault onto a standing JL
Jim Duggan fought Super Calo to a no contest when Sting attacked Duggan before Calo's entrance and dropped him with the Scorpion Death Drop; prior to the contest, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Duggan in which he discussed his standing up against the nWo and called out Sting for not siding with either WCW or the nWo
Chris Jericho pinned Sgt. Craig Pittman with a missile dropkick at 1:07; the match was said to be a stand-by match, subbing for Duggan vs. Calo
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated High Voltage at 4:06 when Booker T pinned Kenny Kaos following the Heat Seeker; during the bout, the Giant was shown again barging into the nWo dressing room, claiming Hogan gave him his word he would defend the title at Souled Out; moments later, after security again pulled the Giant out of the room, Hogan and Eric Bischoff made fun of the Giant for thinking he had a match without first having a contract
Diamond Dallas Page pinned Mark Starr with the Diamond Cutter at the 54-second mark; Eric Bischoff & Ted Dibiase did guest commentary for the match, with both claiming DDP was now a part of the nWo; after the contest, WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash came out and handed Page an nWo t-shirt; after putting on the shirt, Page dropped Hall with the Diamond Cutter and caused Nash to fall over the top to the floor before then celebrating in the crowd (The Very Best of Nitro)
Dean Malenko pinned WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero in a non-title match at around the 12:15 mark with a powerbomb as Guerrero stood on the middle turnbuckle, distracted by Syxx who appeared on a ladder in the crowd mid-way through the match; prior to the bout, Schiavone & Zbyzsko returned to the commentary table; during the ring entrances, Schiavone announced the WCW Executive Committee was on their way to the arena, from the NAPTE Convention, to make a ruling in the Hogan vs. Giant match; during the contest, Schiavone said what Roddy Piper said following the attack by the nWo weeks earlier was Gaelic; moments later, it was announced the committee had ruled not only would Hogan face the Giant at Souled Out but the two would also wrestle later in the show; the finish was not show due to a technical glitch in the final seconds of the bout
Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) (sub. for Jim Duggan) pinned Super Calo at 2:59 with the cradle DDT; during the bout, it was announced a 6-man lucha libre match would take place at the Clash of the Champions
Jeff Jarrett pinned Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) at 3:33 when Steve McMichael accidentally hit Benoit in the back with the haliburton during a struggle over the weapon with Debra; prior to the bout, Kevin Sullivan cut a promo in front of a chess set in which he said he was going to take "the (chess) board" back the following week in Chicago, then slapped the chess pieces off the boat; during the match, it was announced the match later in the show between the Giant and Hogan would be a non-title match because you have to give the champion 48 hours notice before a title match; mid-way through the contest, McMichael, Debra, and Arn Anderson appeared ringside; after the contest, Michael and Anderson were upset over the loss while Debra was happy; moments later, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Benoit, Woman, Anderson, McMichael, and Debra in which Benoit claimed McMichael "fumbled the ball" and then said he didn't care if Debra badmouthed him or the Horsemen but badmouthing Woman would get her in trouble; McMichael then apologized for his actions, with Benoit then asking Anderson where Ric Flair was; Anderson then said Flair wanted them to work it out on their own, with Benoit telling McMichael to shape up; moments later, Anderson stepped between Benoit and McMichael before McMichael and Debra went backstage; Benoit and Woman then left after Benoit said he had pulled his weight and expected the rest of the group to do the same
Scotty Riggs pinned Billy Kidman with a fishermans suplex at 2:16 after avoiding Kidman's Shooting Star Press, moments after Marcus Alexander Bagwell appeared at the entranceway to watch the contest; during the match, it was announced Riggs would face Bagwell at Souled Out
Lex Luger defeated Rick Fuller via submission with the Torture Rack at 2:57; after the bout, the Giant appeared in the entranceway, with he and Luger circling one another before Luger went backstage and the Giant went out to the ring; moments later, Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with the Giant regarding his match later in the show against Hogan
Rick Steiner (w/ Scott Steiner) defeated Arn Anderson via count-out at 2:59 when Anderson walked backstage after he couldn't get any members of the Horsemen to come out and help him; during the bout, it was announced TNT would air the remainder of the Hogan vs. Giant match during the commercial breaks of "The New Adventures of Robin Hood" immediately after Nitro goes off the air; Anderson motioned to the dressing room for the other Horsemen to come out with the commentary team saying there was a shouting match backstage involving the Horsemen; after the bout, Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with the Steiners regarding their title shot against Hall & Nash at Souled Out (Scott's first appearance after a 5-month absence)
The Giant defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Ted Dibiase) via disqualification in a non-title match when the nWo interfered as the Giant set Hogan up for the chokeslam, with the Giant easily clearing the ring; only the opening minute aired during Nitro, with the remainder of the match being shown, on tape delay, during the first two commercial breaks of the premiere episode of "The New Adventures of Robin Hood"

Monday Nitro - included an opening segment showing the closing moments of Spring Stampede in which Randy Savage knocked Eric Bischoff to the mat, with the rest of the nWo coming out to calm down Savage; featured footage from the "Double Team" premiere in Chicago, with a nWo promo by WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman; included an in-ring segment with the nWo - a group led by Hogan and a group led by Kevin Nash - in which Hogan and Nash teased a fight but eventually made up, however Randy Savage was still angry at Eric Bischoff; after Hogan intervened, Savage told Bischoff he was on probation with both Ted Turner and Savage and Savage himself was on probation with Bischoff - with Bischoff agreeing; featured Gene Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Ric Flair in which Flair brought out Roddy Piper and later Kevin Greene and challenged the nWo; included a closing in-ring promo by DDP, with an ice pack on his shoulder, in which he called himself an anomoly - something that wasn't supposed to happen - and then challenged Savage to face him then and there; Savage then came out on his crutches, with Hogan stepping in-between and saying he would take down DDP for Savage; moments later, Sting dropped from the rafters into the aisle, blocking Hogan, Savage, and the rest of the nWo to DDP, throwing a baseball bat to Page, and then staring down the nWo alongside Page to close the show:
Konnan & Hugh Morrus defeated Alex Wright & Psychosis at 5:04 when Morrus pinned Wright with a swinging neckbreaker and the moonsault after Konnan hit Wright from behind; during the bout, footage was shown from earlier in the day of Diamond Dallas Page arriving to the arena with a black eye following his match the previous night against Randy Savage, with DDP saying he wasn't done with Savage; after the match, Konnan hit a cradle DDT on Psychosis and demanded the referee give him a 3-count as well
Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Lord Steven Regal via disqualification at 4:32 when Regal refused to break the Regal Stretch after Mysterio reached the ropes; during the bout, WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Ted Dibiase, & Vincent were shown arriving to the arena; after the bout, WCW TV Champion Prince Iaukea attempted to make the save but was also locked in the Regal Stretch for several moments until several referees came out to break the hold, with Regal then getting more shots in on both men; moments later, Randy Savage - on crutches - Elizabeth, Syxx, fake Sting, Kevin Nash, Michael Wallstreet, and Buff Bagwell arrived to the arena in a second limo
Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) pinned Ice Train (w/ Teddy Long) at 3:08 with a DDT after knocking Long off the apron; during the bout, backstage footage showed Hogan arguing with Kevin Nash and Randy Savage until Nash walked off
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart & Jacquiline) pinned Hector Guerrero at 2:47 with the Tree of Woe and the double stomp

Monday Nitro - included an opening shot of JJ Dillon arriving to the arena, making his debut as the new chairman of the WCW Executive Committee (Dillon's TV return after a 7-year absence); featured footage from last week's Nitro of Sting coming ringside and tossing baseball bats to Lex Luger, the Giant, and Diamond Dallas Page to rid the nWo from the ring; Nick Patrick then interrupted the segment by coming out and saying he was petitioning to be reinstated as a referee, apologized for his actions since joining the nWo, but there were people he would not apologize to such as Eric Bischoff and Randy Savage, with Larry Zbyzsko arguing with Patrick that he wasn't trustworthy; included a vignette of Chris Benoit, promoting his match with Meng at Slamboree; featured Okerlund interviewing Dillon in which Dillon said Patrick's petition for reinstatement had been taken under advisement, Eric Bischoff now has no authority within WCW, but Bischoff has an iron-clad contract as executive vice-president; Bischoff then walked out and, after Dillon said the nWo contracts of Big Bubba and Michael Wallstreet were not valid because they didn't jump ship within the alloted 30-day window, Bischoff replied by saying "Bite me;" Bischoff then said no one could stop him from doing whatever he wanted with the nWo, with Dillon saying Bischoff was the most powerful man in wrestling but he didn't do it alone and he betrayed everyone's trust; he then finished by saying he didn't want to fill Bischoff's shoes, he wanted to walk in his own; included footage of last week's in-ring pull-apart brawl between Reggie White and Steve McMichael; featured a Lex Luger vignette; included an nWo vignette of WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan on the set of his new movie "McGinsey's Island," co-staring Robert Vaughn and Grace Jones with appearances from both; featured an in-ring promo from the nWo - Kevin Nash, WCW Cruiserweight Chamion Syxx, fake Sting, Buff Bagwell, Vincent, and Scott Norton - in which Syxx replied to recent comments from Ric Flair and said he had no respect for Flair or Roddy Piper; Nash then said the "legends" like Flair and Piper left the young guys nothing and WCW used to be a place where a bunch of guys only pushed their sons; he said Scott Hall was on the verge of becoming a superstar but WCW cut his salary so he went to New York; Nash then said he was from the south side of Detroit, which popped the crowd, and said respect wasn't given but beaten out of someone and that it was the new generation's time to shine; he then said his generation was having to patch the potholes left behind by guys like Flair and Piper; included Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Flair, Piper, & Kevin Greene about their match against the nWo at Slamboree, with the three challenging their opponents to come out then and there and "pave the highway;" moments later, the nWo appeared and brought out WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall - who had been off TV several weeks - with the WCW team and nWo group brawling to end the show:
WCW US Champion Dean Malenko defeated Yuji Nagata via submission with the Texas Cloverleaf at 6:01; the Green Bay Packers' Reggie White, who would face Steve McMichael at Slamboree, was shown sitting ringside during the match
Glacier pinned Ciclope at the 33-second mark with the superkick; during the bout, the crowd chanted "Glacier sucks;" after the match, the man (Bryan Clarke) that helped Mortis double team Glacier at Uncensored came out, distracting Glacier as Mortis came in behind him and dropped him with a kick; Glacier was then double teamed and had his eye injured as James Vandenburg stole his helmet

WCW Cruiserweight Champion Syxx (w/ WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. at 5:53 via KO with the Buzzkiller after Nash interfered and hit the powerbomb on the challenger; after the bout, JJ Dillon came out and ordered Syxx to break the hold, with security keeping Syxx back as Mysterio was taken backstage on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance; moments later, Dillon yelled at Nash & Syxx and told them their behavior wouldn't be tolerated any longer, with both replying "Bite me"

Alex Wright fought Prince Iaukea to a no contest at around the 2-minute mark when the Giant appeared, hit a chokeslam on the referee, Iaukea, and several members of security as Wright left the ring; prior to the bout, Wright cut an insert promo claiming the fans were jealous of him because of his body and the fact he gets so many girls; after the bout, the Giant cut an in-ring promo saying he wanted Kevin Nash after realizing Nash was the fake Sting the night before; as the segment ended, Doug Dillinger and other members of security came out to calm the Giant down
Eddie Guerrero pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. at 4:15 with a powerbomb and the frog splash after raising his knees to block Chavo's own frog splash; prior to the bout, footage was shown from the previous week of Eddie walking out of his tag team match with Chavo against Scott Norton & Buff Bagwell; after the contest, Eddie hit the move a second time, with Hector Guerrero then appearing and standing over Chavo; moments later, Eddie shoved Hector to the mat and left the ring
Rick & Scott Steiner defeated Scott Norton & Buff Bagwell (w/ Vincent) via disqualification at 6:45 when the Great Muta & Masahiro Chono attacked the Steiners as the Steiners attempted the bulldog off the top double team on Bagwell; early in the contest, it was announced the Steiners would face WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash at Road Wild; during the contest, Konnan, Syxx, Hall, and Nash were shown arriving to the arena in a limo; after the contest, the Steiners eventually cleared the ring of all five opponents (Konnan's debut with the New World Order)
Chris Benoit defeated Mike Enos via submission with the Crippler Crossface at 3:47; prior to the bout, Benoit cut an insert promo on ending Kevin Sulivan's career the previous night at Bash at the Beach and said he would now focus on Horsemen business
La Parka defeated Super Calo via disqualification at the 49-second mark when Randy Savage attacked La Parka; prior to the bout, footage was shown from the previous week of Diamond Dallas Page, dressed as La Parka, beating Savage after hitting the Diamond Cutter; during La Parka's entrance, Kimberly was shown near the entranceway giving the Diamond Cutter sign, alluding that La Parka could be Diamond Dallas Page in disguise; after the contest, Page attacked Savage until Curt Hennig knocked Page out with a foreign object and then left the ring; moments later, Savage hit the flying elbowsmash on Page; Gene Okerlund then conducted an interview with Hennig in the aisle in which Hennig called Page the biggest mark in the industry and that he couldn't last 30 seconds with Hennig, just like he can't last 30 seconds "with that hosebag;" Ric Flair then appeared, bowed before Hennig, and went backstage with him
WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall & Syxx (sub. for WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) (w/ WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) defeated Harlem Heat at 9:01 when Hall pinned Booker T with the Outsider's Edge after Nash, confined to a wheelchair at ringside, leapt onto the apron behind the referee's back and clubbed Booker in the back of the head; prior to the bout, Eric Bischoff, Vincent, Konnan, Masahiro Chono, the Great Muta, Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton, Hall, Syxx, and Nash appeared at the entranceway; Bischoff then said Nash, in a wheelchair, was injured and then gave the mic to Nash for him to respond to claims he was dressed as Sting the previous night; Nash then had several of the New World Order members help him to his feet before officially welcoming Konnan, referred to as "K Dawg," into the nWo, with Konnan then revealing an nWo shirt underneath his button-up; during Harlem Heat's entrance, footage was shown from the June 16 Nitro in which Vincent interrupted the Heat's interview, with the Heat then double teaming him in the aisle

Stevie Richards pinned Damien at the 50-second mark when, as Damien came out for the match, Raven jumped over the barricade, and - outside of the referee's view - dropped Damien with a DDT on the floor before rolling him into the ring; Richards came out to the ring wearing a T-shirt that read "Nitro + Stevie = Ratings;" Richards, not knowing what happened to Damien, checked him for a heartbeat and gave him medical treatment until Raven climbed on the apron and slapped Richards across the face, with Richards then covering Damien for the win
Ray Traylor pinned Prince Iaukea with the sidwwalk slam at 3:16; prior to the bout, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview with Big Bubba in the aisle in which he said his name was Ray Traylor and he was a man just like everyone else; he then spoke about being jumped in February, being told his wrestling career was over, and realizing the nWo was nowhere to be seen when he needed them the most; Traylor then said he didn't get one phone call or card, but did get a registered letter from Eric Bischoff saying he was no longer needed in the nWo; Traylor then said he taught himself how to walk again by motivating himself with a photo of Bischoff (Traylor's return after a 7-month absence)

Monday Nitro - featured an opening backstage segment showing the New World Order, with Eric Bsichoff leading WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan and the rest of the group out to the arena; all the members were there aside from Kevin Nash; after entering the ring, Hogan took a sign from a ringside fan that read "Bischoff owns Vince;" moments later, Bischoff took the mic and noted the victories at World War III by Hall and WCW US Champion Curt Hennig; Hogan then took the mic and said the nWo was so on top of the world that he would issue an open challenge for a title defense later in the show; the Giant, wearing a hand cast, and JJ Dillon then appeared at the entrance stage and said he wanted Hogan; Dillon then said the Giant didn't have medical clearance and he couldn't allow the match, with Giant saying he would sign whatever documentation was needed to get the match; Dillon agreed and said he would draft up paperwork for Giant to sign to waive WCW of liability; included a performance by the Nitro Girls in the ring; featured an exclusive preview clip of 'Alien: Resurrection' in theaters Wednesday; included still photos from the previous night's Raven vs. Scotty Riggs match followed by footage of Gene Okerlund interviewing Dillon about Raven's status in WCW, with Dillon saying Raven had 24 hours to sign a contract or would not be at Nitro; featured a nWo vignette showing Bischoff attacking Larry Zbyszko; after the vignette aired, Zbyszko left the broadcast table to cut an in-ring promo saying Hall got lucky at World War III and then challenged him to a fight then and there; the nWo music then played as fliers fell from the rafters showing a photo of Bischoff standing atop Zbyszko's body; moments later, Bischoff interrupted from the aisle saying Hall is a busy man and that Zbyszko was just a retired wrestler that was never that good to begin with; Zbyszko then challenged Bischoff in Hall's place, with Bischoff accepting and Zbyszko going to the floor only to be held back by security; moments later, Zbyszko returned to the ring and said they had a verbal agreement and would make sure Dillon would draw up a contract, with Bischoff responding by saying "Bite me;" included a performance by the Nitro Girls at the entrance stage; featured footage from a man's Nitro Party in Atlanta, GA; included Okerlund conducting an interview at the entrance with Steve McMichael, during which he referred to Alex Wright as a "German praying mantis" and said he laughed when Wright fired Debra McMichael earlier in the show; moments later, Debra came out and said she would be happy to rejoin McMichael, with McMichael telling Debra to get "the hell out of here;" featured a performance of the Nitro Girls at the entrance stage:
WCW Tag Team Champions Rick & Scott Steiner (w/ Ted Dibiase) defeated Disorderly Conduct at 3:44 when Rick pinned Tough Tom after the bulldog off the top double team; during the bout, Larry Zbyszko referred to Rick as "Rob," his real name; prior to and after the match, the team discussed facing Scott Hall & Kevin Nash since Hall & Nash were walking around with imposter title belts
Booker T (w/ Jacqueline) pinned Meng (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 2:57 by reversing a powerbomb attempt into a roll up; prior to the bout, Chris Jericho was shown speaking backstage with Lee Marshall for WCW.com; after the match, Meng applied the Tongan Death Grip on Booker until Stevie Ray ran out with a wooden chair, breaking it over Meng's head; the Barbarian then ran out as Meng shrugged off the chairshot and applied the hold on Stevie Ray as the Barbarian attacked Booker in the corner
Chris Benoit defeated Sick Boy (sub. for Raven) at 3:36 via submission with the Crippler Crossface; prior to the bout, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview with JJ Dillon regarding Raven's status in WCW, with the two then finding Raven in the crowd; moments later, Scotty Riggs came down the aisle and joined Raven's Flock sitting in the front row; Raven then said he signed Dillon's contract but wouldn't comform to his rules, stating he'll wrestle when he wants, who he wants, and only under No DQ rules; after Raven was announced for the match, Raven grabbed Sick Boy by the hair and sent him into the ring in his place; late in the match, Benoit fought off WCW TV Champion Perry Saturn, Lodi, Kidman, and Riggs; after the bout, Raven and Van Hammer entered the ring as Saturn applied the Rings of Saturn on Benoit
Prince Iaukea pinned Alex Wright (w/ Debra McMichael) at 3:16 with a crossbody off the top after Wright repeatedly told Debra to down off the ring apron after her dress became stuck; prior to the bout, still photos were shown of Steve McMichael defeating Wright at World War III; after the match, Wright took the mic and fired Debra as his manager, saying he was done with her and wanted nothing to do with her

Ray Traylor defeated WCW US Champion Curt Hennig via disqualification at 6:32 when Scott Hall, Scott Norton, Buff Bagwell, Randy Savage, and Konnan attacked the challenger; prior to the bout, still photos were shown of Hennig defeating Ric Flair in their No DQ match the previous night at World War III; it was also noted Flair suffered an ankle injury in the match and would have to take a few weeks off; during Hennig's entrance, Mike Tenay announced he was putting together a documentary on the late Brian Pillman and it would be available to fans, with profits going to Pillman's family; Traylor hit the sidewalk slam during the final moments of the match, with it appearing as though the nWo interference came too late, forcing Hennig to kick out of the move; after the match, the nWo ganged up on Traylor with Savage hitting the elbowsmash and Elizabeth aiding in spraypainting Traylor
The Giant defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Vincent) via disqualification at 4:32 when a man dressed as Sting walked ringside and hit the Giant over his hand cast with a baseball bat, then revealing himself as Kevin Nash; prior to the bout, still photos were shown from the World War III battle royal, showing the interference from Hogan and Kevin Nash to allow Scott Hall to win; early in the match, Eric Bischoff & Rick Rude came out, scared off Tony Schiavone & Mike Tenay, and provided commentary for the bout; after the contest, WCW US Champion Curt Hennig, Scott Hall, Buff Bagwell, Randy Savage, Scott Norton, and Konnan came out and stood over the Giant's body; moments later, "Sting" was lowered from the rafters but then crashed through the ring, with Hogan and Nash then hitting the dummy with the baseball bat; the dummy was then pulled out of the ring, with Hennig and Bagwell holding it up so Hogan could cut a promo as though it were the real Sting

Monday Nitro - featured opening stills from Sting's in-ring celebration after dethroning Hulk Hogan of the WCW World Title the night before at Starrcade; purple and gold balloons fell from the rafters - WCW colors - to begin the broadcast; moments later, the Nitro Girls celebrated as Larry Zbyzsko walked out to the commentary table after saving Nitro's future the night before and it was announced Zbyzsko would face Scott Hall at Souled Out 98; included Gene Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Bret Hart, who said the nWo sucked, justice prevailed at Starrcade, and the nWo reminded him "of the scum I just left behind;" Hart then listed Lex Luger, the Giant, Chris Benoit, and WCW World Champion Sting as some of the names he wanted to go up against and then singled out Hulk Hogan as the top man he wanted, saying "You escaped, you ran away from me a long time ago;" featured Okerlund interviewing Ric Flair in the aisle in which Flair congratulated Diamond Dallas Page on his US Title win and said he and Curt Hennig weren't done, congratulated Sting, and gave Hart credit for his involvement; he then singled out Hart before quoting Dave Meltzer's comments in the Baltimore Sun in which he said Flair was the greatest of all time; included an in-ring promo by Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff in which footage was shown of JJ Dillon saying Nick Patrick would be the referee for the Starrcade main event and then argued since Patrick called for the bell then Hogan is still champion; moments later, they said Hart should have been involved and challenged WCW to make the situation right; featured Bobby Heenan returning for the second hour in which he played off his involvement with "nWo Nitro" the previous week and said it was an act of bravery on his part and he should be welcomed back with open arms; included Okerlund interviewing JJ Dillon in the aisle in which Dillon said WCW World Champion Sting had agreed to defend the title later in the show against Hulk Hogan to resolve any controversy from the previous night's match; later in the show, Bischoff interrupted another interview of Dillon by Okerlund, in which he accepted the challenge on behalf of Hogan; featured an in-ring promo by Scott Hall in which he said the nWo wasn't going anywhere; Bill Ripkin, Cal Ripkin Jr.'s brother, of the Detroit Tigers was in attendance:
Bill Goldberg pinned Glacier at 1:00 with the Jackhammer; prior to the bout, Raven's Flock was shown sitting ringside
Chris Benoit defeated Hammer via disqualification at 1:54 when the Flock attacked Benoit as Hammer was caught in the Crippler Crossface; prior to the bout, Raven cut a promo in the crowd, surrounded by the Flock, saying if Benoit wanted a beating week after week then he would give him one; as Benoit came out to the ring, he jumped into the crowd after Raven and was beaten down by the Flock before they tossed him into the asile; after the match, Steve McMichael helped make the save as Kidman, Saturn, Hammer, Sick Boy, and Lodi attacked Benoit
The Ultimo Dragon defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero via submission with the Dragon Sleeper to win the title at 1:26; prior to the bout, Guerrero attacked the challenger from behind as he made his way out to the ring; after the match, Guerrero threw Dragon to the floor
WCW US Champion Diamond Dallas Page pinned Mortis (w/ James Vandenburg) with the Diamond Cutter at 3:50 after avoiding the Flatliner; prior to the bout, DDP was escorted out to the stage by Kimberly; after the match, DDP knocked Vandenburg off the apron and celebrated in the crowd
Booker T pinned WCW TV Champion Disco Inferno to win the title at 6:54 with the Harlem Hangover; after the bout, Stevie Ray came out and celebrated with the new champion
