1/7/99 - featured an opening video package recapping the feud between Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff, Bischoff's win over Flair at Starrcade, Flair putting his career on the line on Nitro to get a rematch, winning, earning the right to run WCW for 90 days, and then having Tony Schiavone be Bischoff's new boss; included Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay on commentary; featured footage from Nitro of Hulk Hogan pinning WCW World Champion Kevin Nash to win the title, with Hogan, Nash, WCW TV Champion Scott Steiner, and Scott Hall celebrating in the ring before Bill Goldberg returned to the ring, and then eventually beaten down by Hogan, Nash, Steiner, Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, alongside Elizabeth; after the nWo left, Goldberg took the mic and challenged Nash as the ring filled up with players of the Atlanta Falcons; included Gene Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Flair regarding Hogan being the new champion and the growth of the nWo, then noting he fought Harley Race at the same building in 1981 in front of a sell out crowd for the world title; Flair then said Hogan and Nash would be ashamed of themselves in 10 years for what they did, then told Luger that he sucked for what he did and he didn't have any leadership skills; Flair finished by telling Bischoff to be in his office the next day at 8am and that Hogan and Nash would face the consequences the next week on Nitro; featured footage from Nitro of Chris Jericho praising referee Scott Dickenson, with Jericho saying Dickenson shouldn't have to put up with the physicality of Perry Saturn; included a backstage segment with the Giant, Curt Hennig, Vincent, Horace, Brian Adams, Scott Norton, and others waiting as Hogan, Nash, Luger, Hall, and Steiner -- wearing the red and black -- arrived to the arena in a limo; Giant then questioned what happened at Nitro, with Hogan saying there was a lack of communication between his group and Giant's; featured an ad promoting the Nitro Girls calendar; included footage of Raven visiting his rich family with Chris Kanyon, with Raven's sister Chastity walking in; Raven's mother then told him repeatedly to go back to see his doctor and seek treatment and that he didn't know what was good for him; featured Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Hennig & Barry Windham regarding their upcoming match at Souled Out against Ric & David Flair; included footage on how to be part of the 1999 Bruise Cruise in May; featured Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Juventud Guerrera in which Guerrera said "they got Eddie, maybe I'm next," then ran out of the arena after alluding to the Wolfpac; included footage from poolside at Raven's pool, with "James" (Sandman) arriving, knocking Kanyon into the pool, and complimenting each of Raven's family; James then talked about his daughter Kelly and son Tyler, with Raven walking out and blaming his mother for taking up all the time with his own friends:
Ernest Miller (w/ Sonny Onoo) pinned Perry Saturn at 3:05 when, as referee Mickey Jay argued on the floor with an interfering Chris Jericho, referee Scott Dickenson ran into the ring and gave Saturn a fast count before then leaving the ring; after the contest, Saturn threw a steel chair around the ring in frustration
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman defeated Psychosis via disqualification at around the 5-minute mark when Juventud Guerrera interfered, with the lWo members double teaming the champion before Rey Mysterio Jr. made the save and helped Kidman clear the ring; moments later, WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, WCW TV Champion Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, Scott Hall, Lex Luger, and Kevin Nash walked out, with the nWo attacking Kidman, Juvi, and Psychosis before Mysterio left the ring under his own power; after Hall used his cattle prod to shock Psychosis, Hogan and Nash discussed their match on Nitro and cut a promo on Ric Flair and Bill Goldberg; moments later, the Giant walked out, accompanied by Brian Adams, Vincent, Curt Hennig, Scott Norton, and Horace, with Giant asking why he asked them to stay backstage; eventually, Hogan called out Giant, saying he was the reason Flair was running WCW and Nash was the true giant of the nWo; Hogan then suggested that if Giant can beat Nash, then he can have his spot in the nWo and that the match will happen on Monday Nitro; Giant accepted and said he was the only giant in WCW or the nWo
Bam Bam Bigelow pinned Jerry Flynn with the Greetings from Asbury Park at the 29-second mark
Disco Inferno pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the Chart Buster at 3:25 after Guerrero knocked an interfering Norman Smiley off the apron as Smiley was dancing with Guerrero's stick horse Pepe; Pepe wore a neckbrace for the match; during the bout, it was announced Ric Flair was starting a tournament to crown new WCW Tag Team Champions and it would begin later in the show
WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament Opening Round: Fit Finlay & Dave Taylor defeated Super Calo & Lizmark Jr. at 2:13 when Taylor pinned Lizmark with a suplex into a cradle; during the bout, Tony Schiavone noted he was in the same arena in 1978 to see Paul Orndorff & Jimmy Snuka become tag team champions; after the bout, the nWo Wolfpac returned to the ring and attacked all four men; moments later, Scott Hall took the mic and said the reason there's no tag team action on TBS is because he and Kevin Nash couldn't be beat, then adding that the title tournament wasn't going to happen
Booker T pinned La Parka with a Harlem sidekick at 4:27 as La Parka attempted to hit Booker with a steel chair
Konnan pinned Chris Jericho (w/ Ralphus) with a facebuster and fast count from an interfering Perry Saturn at 5:02, moments after Saturn came out and scared referee Scott Dickenson from the ring; prior to the bout, footage was shown from Konnan winning the WCW TV Title from Jericho on the 11/30/98 Nitro; during Jericho's entrance, La Parka was shown knocked out backstage, with "nWo" sprayed around him; prior to Konnan's entrance, his music video aired on the big screen; following Konnan's entrance, he was jumped by Jericho while trying to cut an in-ring promo
Barry Windham pinned Chris Benoit at 5:13 with a stomp to the head as, while the referee was knocked down, Benoit had an interfering Curt Hennig caught in the Crippler Crossface; after the contest, Steve McMichael ran out, assaulted Windham, and cleared he and Hennig from the ring

WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament: Bobby Duncum Jr. & Mike Enos (-1) defeated Meng & the Barbarian (w/ Jimmy Hart) (-1) at around the 16-minute mark when Duncum pinned Meng after the Barbarian kicked his partner in the back of the head and then again in the face; after the decision, Barbarian and Hart left ringside together while looking back at Meng down in the ring
Lash LeRoux pinned Super Calo with a modified Death Valley Driver at 5:25
WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament: Fit Finlay & Dave Taylor defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman & Chavo Guerrero Jr. (-1) at around the 13-minute mark when Finlay pinned Kidman with the tombstone, moments after Chavo accidentally dropkicked a steel chair into Kidman's face as Finlay attempted to hit Kidman with the chair behind the referee's back
Disco Inferno pinned Chris Adams at 7:40 with a kick to the knee and Chart Buster after pulling referee Charles Robinson in the way to block Adams' attempt at the superkick; late in the bout, the camera cut completely away to show more from the conversation between Kaz Hayashi, Sonny Onoo, Glacier, and Ernest Miller, with Glacier selling Miller his helmet, even though Hayashi wanted it for himself
